DETAIL ENGINEERING
Detail engineering is based on the basic design and the project planning effort reflected in the PEP (Project Execution Plan). However, when this activity begins, a review of the basic engineering must be carried out, to adapt and update the project to possible new demands, resizing, changes in the environment, new official policies (environment, among others), and even new project objectives. Detail engineering consists of interconnecting each of the equipment and instruments of basic engineering or basic process engineering so that the process meets the objective. With the design calculation reports, you can detail the construction, for example, of the foundation, columns, and frames of an industrial warehouse or a complete building. Detail drawings of the general assembly, sub-assemblies of mechanisms, and parts of a certain piece of equipment can be prepared. The scope of activities in detailed engineering is as follows:
- Constructability Analysis.
- Preparation of Technical Specifications.
- Inclusion of supplier information in construction plans.
- Issuance of Construction Plans in the different disciplines involved.
- Issuance of definitive Materials Lists.
- Preparation of Cause Effect Matrix.
- Instrumentation and Control Detail Drawings.
- Execution of Stress Analysis in Pipes. Preparation of Cathodic Protection packages.
- Risk analysis.
- Risk Analysis and Operability (HAZOP: Hazard and Operability).
- Preparation of Operation Manual.
- Cost Estimation class II (± 10%) or class I (± 5%).
- Preparation of Terms of Reference or Competition Rules.
- Preparation of packages for bidding.
- Technical evaluation of offers.
- Execution of As-built Plans.
- Review and detailed application of basic engineering.
- Technical specifications of equipment and materials.
- Functional specifications.
- Sizing of conduits, pipes, and electrical installations.
- List of equipment, instrumentation, accessories, and materials.
- Facility detail plans: Layout of pipes and ducts, isometrics, architectural details, electrical single-wire lines.
For detailed engineering, there is a team of professionals specialized in each discipline who will provide solutions to all the project requirements. The group acquires the commitment to define the work and/or the necessary processes to implement, whether for a new project, expansion or remodeling of civil works, industrial plants, etc.:
Mechanical Detail Engineering Discipline:
- Collection and analysis of information.
- Field data surveys.
- Equipment arrangements, piping arrangements, distribution of air conditioning and refrigeration ducts.
- Calculation of atmospheric and pressure vessels. Material handling.

- Collection and analysis of information.
- Surveying topographic field data with contour lines.
- Structural Calculation and Design of Concrete and Steel.
- Topographic plans, drainage, and road designs.
- Roads, streets, and highways Route Maps.
- Structural Designs.
Architectural detail discipline:
- Collection and analysis of information.
- Field data surveys.
- Architectural arrangements, overall plans, facades, finishing drawings, hydrosanitary drawings, and Blacksmithing.
